with the Shrine behind
This is now the Cathedral Church of Santiago. Compostela means the field of stars.
When one looks up at any stage of the pilgrimage the Milky Way is above, running east
to west. It is most certainly walking the field of stars.
In the eighth century a shepherd was out one night when he had a dream of a
field of stars in the middle of which he was told  to dig, On waking he was obedient
and found some bones in stone box. On showing them to the local Bishop they were
identified as belonging to Saint James. A church was built over the spot
where they were found.
